As the news has been reporting, State Bank Northwest is aware of the major breakdown in Internet security, called the "Heartbleed" internet bug. While the details of the vulnerability are quite technical it has been reported the that the "Heartbleed" bug has the potential to compromise millions of passwords, credit card numbers, and other personal information.

The "Heartbleed" bug appears to have been introduced by a programming mistake in a version of OpenSSL. We want you to know that our internet site and systems have been tested and are safe and secure. However, best practices recommend that as another safeguard you change your password for online banking, bill pay and e-statements.

If you have any questions, please call any of our branches.
